County Sligo is one of Ireland’s great championship links. A course designed by the legendary Harry Colt, it has hosted most of Ireland’s major championships in its long and venerable history.
Three large beaches beneath the cliffs keep the Atlantic Ocean at bay as Benbulben Mountain competes with the ocean for scenic splendour on the land side.
The traditional links layout utilizes the natural contours of the dune-covered landscape rather than moving large amounts of earth during its design. The end result is a natural course filled with dramatic undulations, elevated tees, and raised plateau greens.
