On the Fife Open Championship Qualifying Trail, Ladybank Golf Club, one of the premier courses in the region, has hosted final qualifying on seven occasions since 1978 for the Open Championship played at St Andrews

Ladybank is a showcase for the variety of challenge open to members and visitors in Fife. For lovers of the game away from the sea, Ladybank Golf Club provides a classic heathland test and enjoys a reputation as one of the finest inland layouts in Scotland.

Red squirrels, in decline in the UK, are resident in the proliferation of Scots pines in and around the course and can often be seen in the broad-leaved species of beech tree in the long avenue leading to the Clubhouse.

A heathland course of Championship status set amongst heather, pine trees and silver birch, the Championship course at Ladybank Golf Club has two loops of nine holes. The course definition may have changed dramatically over the last hundred years but its character remains intact. If you stray off line expect to be punished for your sins. The drive at the dogleg 3rd and 9th holes requires extreme care, as do the 15th and 16th on the back nine. The greens are compact and your approach shot requires precision to find the putting surface.
